’90s-themed Independence Day celebration, fireworks planned for City of Clarksville

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) –  The City of Clarksville is planning to celebrate Independence Day this year with a 90s-inspired celebration at Liberty Park, complete with live music, food trucks, games and one of the most anticipated fireworks shows of the year.

Clarksville Parks & Recreation’s annual event will be at Liberty Park on Thursday, July 3, from 5 to 9 p.m., with the fireworks show to follow, according to a news release.

“We wanted this year’s celebration to feel like a memory in the making,” said Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts in the release. “It’s not just about fireworks. It’s about that feeling of togetherness and freedom you remember from summer nights gone by.”

The stage will feature a lineup of local and regional musicians:

• 6 p.m.: Mollihart: Acoustic harmonies from a sister duo that’s all heart and harmony.
• 6:45 p.m.: Jax Hollow: Bluesy ’90s rock energy with a voice that could’ve easily headlined Lilith Fair.
• 8 p.m.: Saved By the Music: A high-energy tribute to the best of the ’90s—think Alanis, Nirvana, TLC and more.

At 9:10 p.m., the fireworks show will light up the Clarksville skyline.

Food trucks will serve summer fare and beer for sale by Strawberry Alley Ale Works. For the kids, face painting and games will keep the fun going off-stage. Guests are encouraged to channel their favorite ’90s icons or bring their boldest Red, White and Blue spirit.

Admission is free, and families are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs. Standard park rules apply:

• No pets.
• No outside alcoholic beverages.
• No personal fireworks.
