APSU Men’s and Women’s basketball teams introduced at Govs Madness event | VIDEO

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Austin Peay State University’s men’s and women’s basketball teams launched their season with the fourth annual Govs Madness event at the F&M Bank Arena.
The evening included skills contests and competitions, allowing both teams to showcase their skills and build excitement for the season ahead. A live DJ performed, along with APSU’s cheer and dance squad, and there were appearances by other APSU sports teams.
The first Governors home game will be at F&M Bank Arena on Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. in a charity alumni game benefiting Habitat for Humanity, according to APSU Sports Information. Austin Peay then hosts Chattanooga on Nov. 11 for its final home game of the month. After six-straight games on the road, Austin Peay returns home on Dec. 14 for a 4 p.m. contest against Southern Illinois before wrapping up non conference play against Brescia on Dec. 29.
The Governors host nine Atlantic Sun Conference games this season, which are primarily split between Thursday and Saturday contests. Throughout the entirety of the 2024-25 season, all weekday home games tipoff at 7 p.m., with weekend contests beginning at 4 p.m.
