CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Austin Peay State University men’s and women’s golf teams hosted a meet and greet at the Clarksville Country Club on Friday afternoon. Attendees had the chance to talk with players and coaches, learning more about the teams.
In a highlight of the event, one of APSU’s seven helicopters arrived to showcase the university’s aviation program, giving guests an up close look and the opportunity to ask questions.
“We brought Austin Peay State University’s golf team here today to celebrate their achievements,” said Tom Edwards, one of the owners of the Clarksville Country Club. “We are strong supporters of Austin Peay State University.”
Charles Weigandt, APSU’s Aviation & Science Program director, said the university’s Aviation program is rapidly growing, with multiple helicopters already purchased and plans underway to purchase a hangar at Outlaw Field.
“We offer a four-year program where students can earn a degree along with flight training, including private, instrument, commercial, flight instructor, and instrument flight instructor certificates,” Weigandt said.
