Austin Peay State University Homecoming kicks off with bonfire and pep rally | PHOTOS

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Austin Peay State University kicked off Homecoming 2023 with the theme “Nightmare on College Street … Fear the Stache” on Monday. A crowd of more than 500 fans gathered on the lawn of the Dunn Center, also known as the Dunn Bowl, for a bonfire and pep rally.
Homecoming continues throughout the week with dozens of activities for students, their families and the community. Also, at the bonfire and pep rally on Monday, 10 students were chosen for the Homecoming Court, with the Homecoming King and Queen announced during the game on Saturday.
APSU Head Football Coach Scotty Walden helped get the crowd pumped up when he talked about filling Fortera Stadium – the Fort. “We always talk about how important it is to sell out the Fort, to pack the Fort out, maybe break the attendance record at the Fort this Saturday. Because of you, how important it is to be in those stands on Saturday for this football team,” Walden said.
Highlights of APSU Homecoming will be the 78th annual Homecoming Parade on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 11 a.m., followed by the Governors football team taking on North Alabama at 3 p.m. at Fortera Stadium.
