Chowdown With the Trucks plans big grand opening with rolling arcade, mechanical bull, 14 food trucks

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Chowdown With the Trucks, the Clarksville food truck group, is planning to kick off the 2024 season with a grand opening event this month.

The grand opening will be Saturday, April 27, featuring 14 food trucks, a rolling arcade from Big E’s Bouncers, a mechanical bull, 20 vendors and more. The event will include giveaways of a cornhole set, a 50-inch TV, and entertainment tickets. Special guests from Q108 will be there to broadcast live.

Here are the food trucks you can sample at the grand opening:

• Lemonade Cuties
• Bondi Bowls
• Monster Cone
• Angry Mustache
• PBody’s
• Tacos El Chingon
• Right Choice
• Pop and Dogs
• Philly Kings
• Fryz Wit Dat
• Chicken Strippers
• E’s Squeezed
• Classic Gourmet

Starting at 1 p.m. and continuing through 8 p.m. that Saturday, the free event will be in the parking lot at Nashville State Community College, 1760 Wilma Rudolph Blvd.

Weekly events

Chowdown With the Trucks, which is led by Mark Johnson, owner of Fryz Wit Dat, and Cindy Browning, owner of Pop and Dogs, holds a weekly food truck meetup every Saturday from 4-8 p.m. with eight food trucks at the Co-op, 1801 Wilma Rudolph Blvd.

Monthly special events

This year, Chowdown With the Trucks is planning special monthly events, each from 1-8 p.m. Get these set on your calendar:

• May 11: Mother’s Day event at NSCC
• June 15: Father’s Day event, location TBA
• July 6: Military and First Responders Day event
• Aug. 10: Back to School Bash
• Sept. 21: End of Summer Bash
• Oct. 19: Trunk or Treat
• Nov. 16: Turkey Giveaway
