CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Close to 2,000 people filled downtown to ring in 2024 with the Montgomery County New Year’s Eve Celebration at the Downtown Commons.

Music also filled the air with the 8 South Band, who kept the music going non-stop until midnight. The evening had something for everyone with a checkered dance floor under a large heated and lighted tent. The free event featured food trucks, cash bars from TriStar beverage, and photos from the Instaburst photo trailer.

Skating was also available at the Ford Ice Center at F&M Bank Arena, with many downtown businesses remaining open to join in the celebration. The night was topped off with a drop of balloons at midnight.

Montgomery County Mayor Wes Golden thanked the Montgomery County Parks and Recreation for their hard work with the event, along with law enforcement agencies and emergency services on site offering safety measures.

“This is the inaugural event, and we will have the second anniversary next year, and we’re going to continue to do it past that. Everybody that came up to me was super excited about having this in our downtown. I hope the local businesses had a good turn out and we hope to do more of this,” Golden said.
