Drone show will light up sky for opening of Christmas on the Cumberland, Holiday Market

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Clarksville Parks & Recreation will present the City of Clarksville’s first drone show during the opening of Christmas on the Cumberland and the Holiday Market this month.
The show will be Nov. 23, starting at approximately 6 p.m. in McGregor Park Riverwalk, 640 N. Riverside Drive. Officials discussed plans for the show at the city Parks and Recreation Committee meeting on Tuesday.
The drones will be provided and operated by Firefly Drone Shows and will consist of 200 synchronized drones that will form holiday images in the night sky. The show will last for 15 minutes and will stretch 300 feet high and span 600 feet across the sky.
Holiday Market, Christmas on Cumberland
The Holiday Market will start at 2 p.m. and end at 8 p.m. According to Parks & Recreation, the event will feature local artists, small businesses, and a range of global cuisines.
The grand opening of Christmas on the Cumberland will begin at 5 p.m. and will be accompanied by a live performance by Natalie’s Dance Network, CAST and Crowns, and caroling by the Clarksville School of Fine Arts. Mayor Joe Pitts will flip the switch, activating 1 million lights, at 6 p.m., followed shortly by the drone show.
Christmas on the Cumberland will feature Christmas light depictions of reindeer, Saint Nick, snowmen, candy canes, and more along the Cumberland Riverwalk and McGregor Park. The annual display also includes the mesmerizing light tunnel and the Christmas tree at the As the River Flows Museum.
The lights will be available from Nov. 23 until Jan. 2. The lights will be visible from 5-10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and from 5-11 p.m. Friday through Saturday.
