CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The annual Montgomery County Easter Egg Hunt took place at Civitan Park on Saturday, drawing hundreds of families for a day filled with excitement.

Now in its second year at Civitan Park, the event was organized by Montgomery County Parks and Recreation and included the much-anticipated helicopter egg drop and, for the first time, an Adaptive Easter Egg Hunt.

The Adaptive Easter Egg Hunt was designed to be inclusive and accessible to individuals of all ages and abilities, and it was made possible through partnerships with Buddy Ball Special Needs Athletic League, PDI, and a sponsorship from Fortera Credit Union.

“This is actually our second Easter egg hunt at Civitan Park,” said Kara Zahn, events supervisor for Montgomery County Parks and Recreation. “This year we added, in addition to the four age groups … a helicopter egg drop. We’re working with Austin Peay’s aviation program. They dropped 1,100 eggs.”

The egg hunts were organized by age group, starting with children aged 0-2 at 10 a.m., and continuing in half-hour increments through ages 3-5, 6-8, and 9 and older.
