Jazz Night coming this week to Dixon Park as part of city Summer Concert Series

CLARKSVILLE, TN – Clarksville Parks & Recreation has announced that, Jazz Night – the first installment of the Summer Concert Series presented by Charly Barnett and Modern Movement Real Estate – is set for Thursday, May 16, from 6-9 p.m. at Dixon Park, 117 S. 10th St.

The Summer Concert Series is focused on showcasing talented local musicians, and Jazz Night will feature performances by:

  • Richview Jazz Band
  • Kirkwood Middle Jazz Bands
  • Stewart County Middle Jazz Band
  • Northeast High Jazz Band
  • Clarksville High Jazz Band
  • Cumberland Winds Jazz Project

Adding to the festivities, a variety of food trucks will be on-site, serving up delicious eats to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. Food truck options include:

  • Kona Ice
  • Smash’n Beef
  • MI Coney
  • Palate Junkies

“We’re thrilled to bring the community together for an evening of live, local jazz music in a beautiful setting,” said Amanda Pitt, Event Planning Specialist at Clarksville Parks & Recreation. “Jazz Night promises to be a highlight of our Summer Concert Series, and we can’t wait to see everyone come out and enjoy the music, food, and festivities.”

Venue change

The event was originally set to take place at McGregor Park, but due to the recent storms and flooding, has been moved to Dixon Park, 117 S. 10th St.

10th Street will be closed between Franklin Street and Commerce Street beginning at 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 16. Drivers are urged to seek an alternate route at that time.

Jazz Night is free and open to the public. Parking and restrooms are available at the nearby Burt Cobb Recreation Center. Parking is also available at the Fifth Ward Missionary Baptist Church at the corner of Franklin and 10th street.
