CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Loaves and Fishes hosted its annual Night of Hope fundraiser at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center on Friday.
Loaves and Fishes’ mission is to combat food insecurity in Clarksville. “At Loaves and Fishes, we feed over 200 hot meals a day to members of the community who are facing food insecurity,” said Falon Kirkland, a volunteer on the event committee.
“This event helps us continue our mission to meet their most basic need, food.” The masquerade-themed event featured live music, dinner, and both silent and live auctions. Kirkland spoke about the significance of the fundraiser. “It helps propel us into the next year, ensuring we can secure the funds needed to keep supporting those in need.”
During the event, Loaves and Fishes also launched its new Burn the Mortgage campaign. The initiatives goal is to pay off the $1.2 million remaining on the facility, which is the base for its operations. “Paying off our debt will allow us to feed more people and potentially start programs to uplift and empower our community members,” Kirkland explained.
