Millan Public Parking Garage opens in downtown Clarksville with over 500 spaces | PHOTOS

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Downtown gained a major infrastructure upgrade with the grand opening Friday of the Millan Public Parking Garage. Local officials, business leaders, and community members gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony on the first floor of the five-level facility, which officially opened to the public at 1 p.m.
Located at 90 College St. next to F&M Bank Arena, the new garage features over 500 parking spaces. The 162,000-square-foot structure includes two elevators, pedestrian access points at the southwest and northeast corners, and entry lanes on both College Street and from a road off North First Street. The College Street entry includes a reversible lane for better traffic flow during large events.

The project was made possible through a public-private partnership involving Millan Enterprises, Montgomery County, and the State of Tennessee. The state contributed $14 million in funding, while Millan Enterprises took on the responsibility of constructing, managing, and maintaining the facility. Thanks to this partnership, no county funds were required for construction, and the project came in $2 million under budget.
As developments continue to expand between Austin Peay State University and the riverfront, the parking garage is expected to provide parking for nearby businesses and the F&M Bank Arena. The garage also is prepped for 16 electric vehicle charging stations, mobile and license plate-based payment systems, and integration with the Park Mobile app.
This is the second large public parking garage to open downtown in less than a year. In November, the City of Clarksville opened its 587-vehicle First Street Parking Garage at First and Commerce.
