Montgomery County Conservation Awards presented at 68th annual Farm City Banquet | PHOTOS

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Montgomery County Soil & Water Conservation District held its 68th annual Conservation Awards Banquet & Farm City Week Tuesday evening.
Close to 150 attended the event, hosted by the Downtown Kiwanis and Hilldale Kiwanis Clubs, at the William O. Beach Civic Hall in Veterans Plaza.
Montgomery County Mayor Wes Golden spoke at the banquet and presented a proclamation for conservation and Farm City Week.
The following awards were presented:
- Land Judging, First Place went to the Future Farmers of America (FFA) Team One from Clarksville High School
- Land Judging, Second Place went to the Future Farmers of America (FFA) Team Two from Clarksville High School
- First Place for Land Judging High Individual Scorer, Noah Trail, from Clarksville High School FFA Team Two
- The Conservation Educator of the Year Award went to Nathan Martin
- The Montgomery County Ag Teachers Awards went to Ashlyn Bumpus, Nathan Martin and Melissa Nolan, Danny Boner, Meghan Clegg and Remy Powell
- The Montgomery County Lester Solomon Conservationist Award went to Rusty and Sue Evans
- The 2023 Outstanding Farm Family of the Year Award was presented to the family of Ron and Robin Sleigh by Mark Kelly with the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce
- The 2023 Conservation Progress Award went to Robert L. Menees
- The 2023 Master Conversationist Award went to Mark Barnett
- The 2023 David E. Hinton Scholarship Award went to Hagen Albright and Haley Foster
