CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Ron & Andrea Morton Family Track at Fortera Stadium at Austin Peay State University was filled with walkers supporting the American Cancer Society at the Montgomery County Relay for Life on Friday.

Organizers say the event, which had 28 teams signed up, drew more than 300 people and featured music, food, a kid’s corner, vendors and a silent auction.

Alex Stewart, senior development manager for Relay for Life, said the event had raised $32,000 at its start with a goal of $50,000. “The relay is a chance for the community to come together to celebrate and honor cancer survivors, and to raise money for the fight against cancer,” Stewart said.
