Pi Day celebrated at APSU with pie-eating, foam, frisbees and 3.14-legged race | PHOTOS

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Austin Peay State University Department of Mathematics and Statistics celebrated Pi Day at Fortera Stadium with a variety of activities. The first 200 attendees received a shirt and sticker. Activities ranged from a 3.14-mile race to a pie-eating contest, trivia, foam cannon, pie-in-the-sky Frisbee contest, and a 3.14-legged race.
“We wanted to promote the idea that math is everywhere. It’s not something that’s boring; we should celebrate it,” APSU Professor of Chemistry Leslie Hiatt stated. Hiatt hopes to continue the Pi Day celebration in the future.
