Red River Spartans win first ever game at F&M Bank Arena | PHOTOS

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Red River Spartans kicked off their season with a 5-3 victory over the Columbus Mavericks on Friday at F&M Bank Arena.
The game, held in commemoration of 9/11, featured a ceremonial puck drop with members of Clarksville Fire Rescue and the Clarksville Police Department.
The Spartans took an early lead, scoring twice in the first period and adding two more goals in the second. The Mavericks had one goal in the second period and two in the third. Both teams finished with 34 shots on goal. Although the Mavericks scored on a power play, the Spartans kept their lead and won the game.
The Red River Spartans recently relocated their home games from Nashville to Clarksville, with the next game scheduled for 7 P.M. on September 14th.
