Reenactors present ‘The Surrender of Clarksville’ at Fort Defiance | PHOTOS

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Fort Defiance Interpretive Center hosted the living history event “The Surrender of Clarksville” on Saturday to commemorate the surrender to Union soldiers in 1862.
The surrender of Clarksville was a significant event in Civil War history, opening the South to Union forces and the capture of Nashville.
