CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Fort Campbell Falcons hosted a Week 0 jamboree for six Clarksville and Hopkinsville football teams on Friday. After four games of explosive plays, big hits, and exciting action at Fryar Stadium, there’s only one thing to say: Football is back.

Fort Campbell’s late heroics over Kenwood

The Kenwood Knights and Fort Campbell Falcons were first up for the night at Fryar Stadium. Kenwood took an early 14-0 lead off two straight interceptions on consecutive pass attempts, including a pick six. However, Fort Campbell’s defense tightened, and led by new QB Jacarray Perlman, who had four rushes and 79 yards, the Falcons mounted a comeback. A 55 yard touchdown strike down the right sideline to Eric Greene completed the rally, and the Falcons held on to win, 14-13.

Northeast outlasts Christian Co. in penalty-heavy affair

The Northeast Eagles and Christian County Colonels met up for game two. Northeast set the tone, scoring on their first drive, capped off by running back Montrell Perry. Christian County responded with a rushing touchdown of their own, and despite both offenses being heavily penalized, it was a shootout. Northeast fumbled the ball away, then Christian County threw an interception to give the ball right back. Phoenix Love found his tight end for a 20-yard touchdown pass late in the second to secure the win, and the Eagles emerged victorious, 14-6.

West Creek uses ground game to top Fort Campbell

The West Creek Coyotes were the Falcons’ second matchup of the night. The Coyotes defense was on fire from the start, allowing only 80 yards of total offense for the Falcons. Offensively, running back DJ McCoy dominated, rushing for 110 yards on only 10 carries. Despite Fort Campbell’s defense not breaking much, quarterback Deshawn Swanson punched in a rushing touchdown for the only score of the night, giving West Creek a 6-0 win.

Northwest dominates Christian County

The after dark game of the Jamboree saw the Vikings from Northwest take on the Christian County Colonels. Right out of the gate, quarterback Braeden Ellis threw a long touchdown strike to Anthony Holland, and the Vikings were rolling. Northwest’s defense deserves some shine too, as they tallied five sacks on the night, with Holland also collecting an interception. The Vikings would tack on one more rushing touchdown to cap off their high energy showing at the jamboree, and would make a statement win, 14-0.
