CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Construction on the Tennessee Wings of Liberty Museum is moving steadily toward completion, with a projected grand opening in March 2026. The museum, located at the intersection of Tiny Town Road and Highway 41A, is set to become one of the most significant military museums in the Mid-South.

Retired Maj. Gen. Brian Winski, President of the Fort Campbell Historical Foundation, described the project as a long-standing vision finally coming to life. “It’s been a long-held vision to create a world-class museum that you see here to commemorate and honor the history and legacy of the great units that call Fort Campbell home,” Winski told Clarksville Now.

The 40,000-square-foot facility includes a main exhibit hall and an event atrium. Once completed, the building will be gifted to the U.S. Army and operated under its care indefinitely.

The museum is a public-private partnership made possible by funding from the State of Tennessee, Montgomery County, the City of Clarksville, as well as private donors. “The funding for the entire museum is covered, so it’s assured that we’re going to complete the project, and it will remain on track and on time to meet our grand opening goal of March of next year,” said Winski.

Unlike the current Pratt Museum located within Fort Campbell, the Wings of Liberty Museum will be publicly accessible without passing through military security, making it more visitor friendly. It is anticipated to bring 200,000 to 250,000 visitors each year, with an expected regional economic impact of $17 to $20 million annually. “This museum will be here forever,” Winski said. “It will be maintained by the Army and run by the Army in perpetuity.”

The museum will feature new exhibits with help from the Center for Military History and have room to add future exhibits. The museum is expected to be particularly popular with bus tours, military reunions and as an educational resource for visitors of all ages.
