This weekend in Clarksville: Lighted Christmas Parade, Spiritfest, Christmas Carol and more

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Come on down to downtown Clarksville this weekend for Spiritfest, followed by the Lighted Christmas Parade!
- Where: Downtown Commons (215 Legion St.), First Presbyterian Chapel (213 Main St.), Trinity Episcopal Parish Hall (317 Franklin St.).
- When: Saturday, Dec. 6, 2-4:30 p.m.
- Cost: Free
- Details: Family-friendly festival with live music, kids’ activities, food trucks, and an appearance by Santa Claus, ahead of the Christmas Parade. Lighting of the community Christmas tree at 4:30 p.m. Guests can also enjoy cookies and hot chocolate inside Trinity’s Parish Hall, or visit the First Presbyterian Chapel for a live Nativity experience with costumes and animals. The First Presbyterian Fellowship Hall will host local art, nonprofit booths, music and coffee.

- When: Saturday, Dec. 6, 5-7 p.m.
- Cost: Free
- Details: The City of Clarksville and Montgomery County host the annual parade of floats and decorated vehicles from businesses, civic groups, schools and organizations. The parade begins at Austin Peay State University and winds through downtown.

- Cost: $35 for adults, $15 for children 10 and under
- Details: Follow Ebenezer Scrooge’s journey from miserly greed to joyful generosity as five actors bring to life beloved characters like Tiny Tim, Bob Cratchit, and Mrs. Fezziwig.
Southern Christmas Sampler: An Evening of Stories and Songs
- Where: Trahern Theatre, Austin Peay State University
- When: Sunday, Dec. 7, 5:30 p.m.
- Cost: $35 individual, $65 for two, $125 for four (includes annual AHC membership)
- Details: Clarksville Arts and Heritage Council’s Southern Christmas Sampler, featuring stories and songs performed by David Alford, Paul Carrol Binkley, Jenny Littleton and Erin Ramsey. Lifetime Achievement Awards. Tickets are available at artsandheritage.us.
- Where: Mabry Concert Hall, Austin Peay State University
- When: Friday, Dec. 5, with shows at 6 and 8 p.m.
- Cost: $5 general admission
- Details: APSU’s 2nd annual HapPeay Holidays Showcase, a family-friendly concert. Tickets are general admission and expected to sell out. Tickets may be purchased via the APSU Marketplace beginning Nov. 17 or in person at the APSU Music Office (Room 139, Music/Mass Communication Building). A food drive will also be collected the night of the event to support local families.
