Unknown Haunted Yard Experience becoming monstrous in Clarksville | VIDEO

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – “I started in a little nook in the garage, painting and sculpting masks; then I took over the garage; then I took over the whole basement, and now it’s taken over the whole yard,” laughed David Cowger, special FX artist and owner of the Unknown Haunted Yard Experience.
Every year, Cowger and his family and friends come together to host a mini monster museum workspace and haunted yard event.
“My end goal would be to get more community support,” Cowger told Clarksville Now. “So we can go commercial so my house isn’t overrun with everything! It’s getting bigger, and bigger, and bigger.”
Cowger joined the Coast Guard in 2009, and while in service he sustained a traumatic brain injury, causing him to medically retire. His message is that serving doesn’t stop after the military.
“In the service, we are serving our country. But when we get out, we still gotta find ways to serve,” he said. “In a way, I feel like I am serving the community, doing events. Ayn donations we get we put back into the events we host throughout the year. It’s just for the people.”
This year, the hauntings will take place every Friday and Saturday until the end of October from 7-11 p.m., and Tuesday, Oct. 31, from 6-9 p.m. There is no admission fee but donations are accepted.
The free event is at Unknown Origin FX, 312 Southern Drive. “All ages welcome – only you know what your family can handle,” he said. Children 13 and under are to be accompanied by an adult.
