WWE legend Shawn ‘Heartbreak Kid’ Michaels on NXT Vengeance Day coming up in Clarksville

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – NXT Vengeance Day at the F&M Bank Arena is only a few days away, and in preparation for the event, WWE Hall of Famer Shawn “The Heartbreak Kid” Michaels spoke with Z97.5’s Kyle King.

During his career, Michaels won every major WWE title, two Royal Rumbles, got inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and built a reputation as The Icon, The Showstopper, The Main Event and The Heartbreak Kid, according to his WWE bio.

After retiring from wrestling in 2010, Michaels worked in numerous positions with the WWE NXT brand, including as a writer, producer and general manager. He is now the Lead Creative of NXT as he continues to develop young superstars of the future.

“I wouldn’t change what I’m doing for anything in the world,” Michaels told King. “I would have not thought this is where I would be, but I couldn’t be happier than where I’m at. This is a business now that I’ve seen that’s been so unbelievably good to me and my family.

“I watch these young men and women come through these doors at NXT. … I see their hopes and dreams of a brighter future and for an experience they’ve never had before. I know what this business can do, I know what it can be, and I want that for them – if they’re here willing to put in the time, effort, work and certainly the passion, which I think is the key to it,” Michaels said.

“When you see that they have that passion for it and that passion drives them … it’s that same passion that I’ve had since I was 12 years old when I first saw it. And I still have it at 58 years old. I come to work with it every day, and, like I said, it’s a joy to do that, because I see it on the faces of all the other men and women who come through these doors.”

The premium WWE live event is set to take place at F&M Bank Arena, 101 Main St., on Sunday, Feb. 4, at 6:30 p.m. Ticket prices vary on Ticketmaster.
