Weekend top picks: ‘9 to 5: The Musical,’ APSU Observatory Night, Juneteenth Block Party

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – This weekend, you can catch a musical, savor live music, gaze up at the stars, explore local vendors and businesses, or cozy up with the family for a movie night!
9 to 5: The Musical: Set in the late 1970s, this story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era, based on the seminal 1980 hit movie, is outrageous, thought-provoking, and even a little romantic. Tickets are $35 (adults) and $15 (10 and under) at the Roxy Regional Theatre, 100 Franklin Street. Performances begin June 13-15 at 7 p.m. with a 2 p.m. showing on Saturday.
Abstract Tunes in June: Experience a lineup of bands that will keep the rock rolling all night. Spots are limited, ensuring an exclusive experience at the Sanctuary on Main, 334 Main Street. The show will begin Friday, June 14 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15.
APSU Observatory Night: Whether you’re a seasoned stargazer or just curious about the cosmos, this event offers an opportunity to witness the beauty of the night sky up close. Don’t miss out on this experience at APSU Observatory, 1991 Pickens Road. The viewing begins on Saturday, June 15 at 8 p.m.
Bands at the Brewstillery: Bring the lawn chairs for the Peter Moon Band. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. All the fun begins on Saturday, June 15 from 6-9 p.m. at The Star Spangled Brewing Co., 614 North Spring Street.
Juneteenth Block Party: Clarksville’s fourth annual Juneteenth Block Party will feature over 70 Black-owned businesses and organizations, food trucks, live performances and kids’ activities. The event promises art, culture, black-owned business, and serious energy. Enjoy it at Main Street, between N. Fourth Street and University Ave. on Saturday, June 15 from 12-6 p.m.
MoCo Movie Night: Join Montgomery County as they host a family friendly movie night throughout the summer season. The movie Cars will be playing at the Downtown Commons, 215 Legion Street. The showing will begin on Saturday, June 15 at 7:30 p.m.
