Weekend top picks: ClarksvilleCon, flamenco concert

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – If the weather improves, we might have the big annual Irish Day Parade in Erin. If not, you can still check out the ClarksvilleCon or the Maharajah Flamenco Band Concert.
Irish Day Parade: The big annual St. Patrick’s Day parade, with a carnival, vendors, music and more, will take place on Main Street in Erin, on Highway 149 southwest of Clarksville. The parade is at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 15, but there will be plenty to do before and after as part of the celebration.
ClarksvilleCon: A collectors’ mecca convention featuring fandoms of multiple genres, including comics, movies, video games, toys, sci-fi, wrestling, sports cards and more. With guest panels and cosplay. The event will be at Quality Inn Exit 4, 3095 Wilma Rudolph Blvd., Saturday, March 15 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $20. Kids under 11 are free.
Maharajah Flamenco Band Concert: This nuevo flamenco group fuses the art of flamenco with jazz, classical and world music. The performance will be at Austin Peay State University in Mabry Concert Hall, 780 Marion St., on Sunday, March 16, at 3 p.m. Tickets are $27.
