Weekend top picks: Farmers market, strawberry festival, family movie night and more

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – This weekend, enjoy local vendors at the farmers market, eat strawberry treats at a festival, put your gardening gloves on for a planting day, grab the kids for a family movie night and more!

Downtown Market: This weekly open-air market features fresh produce from local farms, local handmade goods, ready-to-eat food, live music, and more. Be sure to keep an eye out for the Market mascot, Corny the Cob, during your visit. The market is located on 1 Public Square and is open Saturday, May 11 at 8 a.m. until noon.

Strawberry Jam Festival:  It’s gonna be a jam-packed day of strawberry goodness at Eldridge Farms in Woodlawn, TN, 4575 St. Paul Road. Get ready to enjoy strawberry treats and listen to some fun music on Saturday, May 11-12 at 12-6 p.m. Two day passes are available at $95.

Historic Collinsville Planting Day: Share your passion for gardening and be part of a group planting flowers, herbs, and vegetables throughout the site. Plants will be provided. Guests are invited to bring their own gloves and small gardening tools, including trowels for digging or hand cultivators for breaking up the soil. This event will kick off at 4711 Weakley Road on Saturday, May 11 from 10-4 p.m.

MoCo Movie Night: Tangled: Enjoy a family friendly event at Downtown Commons, 215 Legion Street with a showing of the movie Tangled on Saturday, May 11 at 7:30 p.m. Bring your blankets and a chair for this magical night.

Asian and Pacific Islander Celebration: Join the community at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center, 8 Champions Way on Friday, May 10 from 3-9 p.m. for a celebration of culture and heritage. There will be cultural displays, performances and food. This is a free event.
