Weekend top picks: Govs ice hockey game, Mid-South Jazz Festival, eclipse at Beachaven and more

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Watch the Govs play hockey, kick start your wellness journey, enjoy the sweet sounds of jazz, or enjoy the solar eclipse on Monday.

Govs Ice Hockey Game: Govs Ice Hockey will host the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) for a memorable two-day event. Govs Ice Hockey merchandise will be on sale at the first game Friday, April 5 at 7 p.m. The second game will be on Saturday, April 6 at 2 p.m. The game will be at the F & M Bank Arena, 101 Main Street and admission is $5.

Clarksville Health and Wellness Fair: The fair will feature an array of activities and services designed for all ages and fitness levels. Highlights include soul-soothing yoga, exhilarating belly and line dancing, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) sessions, and the chance to unwind with refreshing wine slushies. The free event is Saturday, April 6 from 9-1 p.m. at Beachaven Winery, 1100 Dunlop Lane.

63rd Mid-South Jazz Festival: Clarksville Community Concert Association will host the headliner concert for the 63rd Mid-South Jazz Festival April 4-6 at Austin Peay State University’s George and Sharon Mabry Concert Hall, 780 Marion Street. Headlining the jazz festival, Warren Wolf Jazz Quartet will perform 7:30 p.m., April 6. Wolf, an acclaimed vibraphonist, will perform with bass, piano and drum accompaniment.

Music on the Lawn: Chris Carpenter will be performing Saturday, April 6 from 4-7 p.m., at Beachaven Winery, 1100 Dunlop Lane. Enjoy the live music, dinner and a local food truck. Joel Nulty will be performing on Sunday, April 7 from 2-5 p.m. for another music on the lawn series.

Solar Eclipse on the Lawn: Join Beachaven Winery, 1100 Dunlop Lane on Monday, April 8 from noon to 5 p.m. to watch the solar eclipse! Grab your favorite bottle, glass, or slushy of Beachaven wine and lunch from Dos Margarita food truck.
