by Lily Russell

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – As February comes to an end, celebrate March with a jazz concert at Roxy Regional Theatre, immerse yourself in history with the Customs House Museum latest installment, or create a unique piece of art at ArtLink Clarksville.

Cumberland Winds Jazz Combo: All ages are sure to enjoy this variety of memorable jazz standards performed by Clarksville’s Cumberland Winds Jazz Combo on Friday March 1. The combo will be playing songs from the Great American Songbook, featuring Gary “Bo” Clayton on trumpet and flugelhorn, Darrin Hoffman on guitar, Heath Rives on tenor sax, Sarah Jenkins-Queen on vocals, Zach Marhover on bass, and Canaan Fain on drums. The show will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at the Roxy, 100 Franklin Street. Tickets are $20.

Sundays at 3- Victorian Mourning: The March installment of Sundays at 3 begins this weekend with Montgomery County Historian Carolyn Ferrell. The Customs House Museum, 2oo South Second Street, will feature clothing, jewelry, and funeral processions influenced by Queen Victoria’s deep mourning of her husband beginning in 1861. The free event is on March 3 from 3-4 p.m.

Stained Glass Workshop: Have fun creating stained glass sun catchers in the traditional copper foil method. You will learn to cut, grind, foil, and solder to create your first glass art piece. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced student, ArtLink Clarksville, 98 Franklin Street, is ready for you to create your own unique piece. The workshop is $45 on Saturday, March 2, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
