Weekend top picks: Leanne Morgan, Greenway 8k Race, Month of Military Child Carnival and more

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – This weekend, you can go see a big comedy show, enjoy Shakespeare on stage, run in two races, or take your kids to a free carnival.

Leanne Morgan: Just Getting Started: The local comedian who has hit national acclaim is coming home for a pair of shows at F&M Bank Arena, 101 Main St. The shows are 7 p.m. on Friday, April 19, and Saturday, April 20. Tickets online start at $36.75.

Hamlet and Midsummer Night’s Dream: The two William Shakespeare classics are on stage this weekend at the Roxy Regional Theatre, 100 Franklin St. Tickets start at $15 with various discounts. Performances of A Midsummer Night’s Dream are at 7 p.m. on April 18, 26 and 27, with a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, April 20. Showings of Hamlet are are 7 p.m. April 19, 20 and 25 and then 2 p.m. April 27.

Music on the Lawn: Britt Dignan will be performing at Beachaven Vineyards and Winery, 1100 Dunlop Lane, on Friday from 4-7 p.m. Beachaven Vineyards and Winery. On Saturday, April 20, it’s Sadie Fine from 4-7 p.m. Both shows are free.

Clarksville Greenway 8k Race:  The Clarksville Greenway 8K Race begins at the Heritage Park Trailhead, 1100 Pollard Road. Runners will then make their way onto the Mary’s Oak Trailhead, pass the 600-foot pedestrian bridge, turn around at the Pollard Road Trailhead, and end back at Heritage Park. Participants will receive a race shirt and surprise item in their bag. The race will begin on Sunday, April 21 at 9 a.m.

Month of the Military Child Carnival: There will be face painting, ring tosses, a dunking booth, balloon darts, corn hole, and much more at the 2nd annual month of the military child carnival! The free event will be at 775 Weatherly Drive on Saturday, April 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Dash to Benefit 5k and Fun Run: All proceeds support the CMC Education Foundation. Each 5k registration includes a t-shirt, swag bag, and finishers medal. The fun-run will begin after the 5k at 9 a.m. The event will be at McGregor Park, 640 N. Riverside Drive on Saturday, April 20 at 8:30 a.m.
