Weekend top picks: Martin Luther King Jr. Day March, APSU MLK Day Breakfast

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – This weekend, participate in a local Martin Luther King Jr. Day March, enjoy a breakfast and program for MLK Day at Austin Peay, catch Eve Ensler’s play at the Roxy.

MLK Education Day and March: Hosted by the local NAACP, enjoy a breakfast at 8:30, followed by a program at 9:30 a.m. A commemorative MLK march will begin at 11:30 a.m. There will also be educational sessions on site for 4- to 17-year-olds, an adult panel, and a blood drive bus onsite at Burt School, 110 Bailey Street on Monday, Jan. 20.

APSU MLK Day Breakfast: The event will feature a fireside chat with APSU alumnus and retired Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Ronald Bailey, interviewed by current APSU student Elizabeth Daniel. The event includes a complimentary breakfast buffet and is open to all community members, including families with children. It will take place at APSU, Morgan University Center, 601 College Street on Monday, Jan. 20 at 9 a.m.

The Vagina Monologues: Funny, outrageous, emotionally affecting and occasionally angry, Eve Ensler’s series of monologues about women and performed by women is back for the 22nd year at The Roxy, 100 Franklin Street. Showings begin Friday, Jan. 17-19. Tickets are $35.
