CADIZ, KY (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Camp Rainbow 2026 concluded this week after several days filled with activities, special events and outdoor adventures for children.

Camp Rainbow is a summer camp held every year at Land Between the Lakes’ Brandon Springs for children who otherwise couldn’t go to a camp because of their medical condition. Each year, between 40 and 45 children between the ages of 5 and 12 years old attend, along with close to 100 volunteers.

This year’s Beaver 100.3 Camp Rainbow Radiothon raised over $93,000 to send kids with to summer camp. With this year’s contributions, the radiothon has raised well over $1 million over the years.

Throughout this week, campers participated in a variety of activities, including a carnival, a pool party, visits from helicopters, motorcycle groups and hot air balloons. The week also included a day of off-roading at Turkey Bay in the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area.

The annual off-road event brought together more than 100 volunteers and supporters, including members of the Clarksville Jeep Crew. Approximately 40 off-road vehicles participated in the event, giving campers the opportunity to explore the trails at Turkey Bay.

According to volunteer Becky Rose, the off-road outing has become a long-standing tradition. “We started this event 17 years ago, and it’s just very important to be able to take these kids who don’t always get these kinds of opportunities out on the trails for a day of fun excitement,” Rose said.

Located within the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area, the Turkey Bay Off-Highway Vehicle Area features more than 100 miles of designated trails for off-road vehicles.

Rose said the experience allows campers to spend time outdoors and enjoy activities that may not otherwise be accessible to them. “A lot of these kids… don’t always get the chance to be outside, to just let go and be kids and run around and be out in the Jeeps, out in the Razors, on the trails, playing in the mud, and that’s really exciting and makes them happy,” she said.

Camp organizers said the week is designed to create memorable experiences for campers while giving them opportunities to try new activities. According to organizers, the goal of Camp Rainbow is to make a lasting difference in the lives of campers by providing experiences they may not otherwise have the opportunity to enjoy.

The annual camp relies on volunteers and community support to provide activities throughout the week.
