Come From Away: Hit musical based on remarkable story of 9/11 aftermath

by ClarksvilleNow.com

When the world stopped on Sept. 11, 2001, kindness soared in an isolated Canadian town. Come From Away, brought to Hopkinsville by Campanile Productions, is a breathtaking musical based on that remarkable true story. On that day, 38 commercial flights from around the globe are diverted for days to tiny Gander, Newfoundland. Unfazed by the arrival of nearly 7,000 surprise guests, the residents provided light in a dark time, welcoming the stranded travelers with music, an open bar, and hope.

During the hit musical version of Come From Away, the cast of only 12 actors transforms seamlessly into dozens of characters. With only subtle changes in posture, voice, accent, movement and a few simple costume pieces, they move fluidly from one role to another – sometimes switching characters in a matter of seconds. Their performances are so distinct and believable that the audience quickly forgets they are watching the same actors portray multiple people.
