This weekend in Clarksville: Downtown concert, Artsville Fest, APSU parade

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – If the weather will cooperate, this is a great weekend for fun stuff to do around town, including a retro concert downtown, Artsville Fest, the APSU Homecoming Parade and more! Here are your top picks:

Downtown @ Sundown

  • Where: Downtown Commons, 215 Legion St.
  • When: 7-10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18
  • Cost: Free
  • Details: Rubik’s Groove (’80s, ’90s, ’00s party band) will be performing. Food trucks will also be present.

Artsville Fest

  • Where: Downtown Commons, 215 Legion St.
  • When: Saturday, Oct. 3, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • Cost: Free admission
  • Details: A free community arts festival celebrating creativity, connection and the role of the arts in bringing people together, with chalk art, live music, dance performances, interactive installations and an artisan market.

APSU Homecoming Parade

  • Where: Austin Peay State University campus
  • When: Saturday, Oct. 3, 11 a.m.
  • Cost: Free
  • Details: Parade with floats, marching bands, student groups, JROTC programs, dance teams, cheerleaders, nonprofits and community organizations. Followed by APSU Homecoming Football Game at 4 p.m. at Fortera Stadium

International Festival

  • Where: Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 716 Franklin St.
  • When: Sunday, Oct. 4, noon-6 p.m.
  • Cost: Free admission
  • Details: Food booths from multiple countries, crafts, and live entertainment. Tickets are available for purchase of food. 

Port Royal Oktoberfest

  • Where: The Dairy Dog, 3011 Port Royal Road, Adams, TN
  • When: Saturday, Oct. 3, 4-7 p.m.
  • Cost: Free admission
  • Details: Port Royal Oktoberfest will feature an afternoon of craft beer, food, live music and friendly competition. Activities include wiener dog races, a human-and-hound obstacle course with Mikaela’s Mutt Motel, a wife-carrying competition, stein-holding contest, keg toss and hot dog eating competition.

Clarksville Home Show

  • Where: F&M Bank Arena, 101 Main St.
  • When: Saturday, Oct. 3, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sunday, Oct. 4, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • Cost: Free admission.
  • Details: The new Clarksville Home Show will bring home improvement contractors, service providers and other vendors together with homeowners looking for ideas, advice and services for upcoming projects.
