This weekend in Clarksville: WWII ship at McGregor Park, BBQ at Richellen

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Get in some fun before the rain starts this weekend, with a WWII ship tour, a BBQ festival and bouncies at McGregor Park!

LST 325 WWII Ship Tours

  • Where: McGregor Park, 640 N. Riverside Drive
  • When: Thursday-Monday, Oct. 8-12, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Cost: $20 for adults; $10 for children ages 6-17; free for children 5 and under; free for active-duty service members with ID.
  • Details: Tour the World War II-era Landing Ship Tank and learn about its role in amphibious warfare.

BBQ Fest: Across the River

  • Where: RichEllen Park, 1466 Highway 149
  • When: Friday-Saturday, Oct. 9-10, beginning at 5 p.m.
  • Cost: Free admission
  • Details: Two-day celebration of great food, live entertainment and community fun, with a BBQ competition, cornhole tournament, live music and football on the big screen.

Recovery Fest

  • Where: McGregor Park
  • When: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 10
  • Cost: Free admission
  • Details: Recovery Fest brought to you by Montgomery County Prevention Coalition. Live music from Change Musik, bounce houses, face painting and games for children. Food and beverage trucks on site.

Fall Break Movie Marathon: Star Wars

  • Where: Downtown Commons, 215 Legion St.
  • When: 6 p.m. nightly:
    • Oct 12: Phantom Menace
    • Oct. 13: Attack of the Clones
    • Oct. 14: Revenge of the Sith
    • Oct. 15: A New Hope
    • Oct. 16: Empire Strikes Back
    • Oct. 17: Return of the Jedi
  • Cost: Free
  • Details: Star Wars movie marathon presented by Montgomery County Parks & Recreation. Bring lawn chairs and blankets, and arrive early for themed activities.

Terry Hedges Magic Show

  • Where: Downtown Commons, 215 Legion St.
  • When: Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2 p.m.
  • Cost: Free
  • Details: Magician Terry Hedges presents an interactive show with illusions, humor and audience participation as part of fall break activities sponsored by the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library and Montgomery County Parks and Recreation.
